Composer and Producer Yang Zhuo XinFinding Balance and Inspiration with ADAM Audio T Series Monitors
ADAM UsersYang Zhuo Xin is one of China’s leading composers for film and live events.
Initially working as a music producer on many successful rock and pop productions with famous Chinese artists, Mr Yang has been one of the nation’s most successful composers for large-scale events such as the National University Games and Spring Festival galas. Yet his compositional talents have been featured on soundtracks of hit movies as well as theatre productions of “Mermaid” and “The Lion King”. Some of the movies that he has composed including “Ghost Blows Out the Light”, “The Man Behind The Courtyard House” , “Silent Witness” and “The Whisper”. A key component of his studio: a 7.1 speaker system based on the ADAM Audio T Series.
Establishing a foothold in the music industry in the 1990s as a bass player and songwriter, his career flourished in the early 2000s, just as the Chinese music industry underwent a significant upturn. He has never looked back. Recently hired to compose some film music in 7.1, he was forced to put his 5.1-equipped studio through a major refit. Mr Yang was encouraged by friends and associates to audition ADAM Audio’s T Series speaker as an addition to his existing monitoring setup consisting of two A77X midfield speakers. “It was an experience,” he recalls, “that brought me a sense of excitement and satisfaction. It was wonderful.”
“ADAM Audio’s T-Series speakers were very objective, and the frequency range was extremely neutral, which reduced a myriad of detours in our work.”
The next stage of the project required Mr Yang to take the 7.1 demo produced in his studio to another facility with a very different speaker system installed. Would the mix created on his T Series be up to par with a much larger monitoring system? “The dynamics, the balance across all instruments, the volume of the speaker were all accurate, so this was very helpful to my work,” comments Mr Yang. “ADAM Audio’s T-Series speakers were very objective, and the frequency range was extremely neutral, which reduced a myriad of detours in our work.”
While the neutrality and balance of his T5V speakers ensured portability between different studios, they also provided him with an inspiring, musical experience. “The sound of the speaker is melodious,” he reports, “so it can arouse my enthusiasm in creation, and bring me inspiration.”
